E-QUIP is always looking for new opportunities to engage with people and develop creative ideas. Whether this is working in collaboration with existing groups in the city or providing new initiatives, we seek to give people a chance to access the arts and learn not only practical stage skills but to learn about working with others, better communication and self awareness.
In the past year we have offered drama summer schools for children, communication training for Social Entrepreneurs, support and direction for school productions as well as looking to establish community theatre programmes in the city.
TAG (The Acting Group)
Mondays 7:30pm – 9pm, Freemantle Community Centre.
TAG (The Acting Group), is a local drama group for adults with learning disabilities and has been running now for just over three years. It was started up by Southampton Day Services in response to lots of enquiries from service users in the city and we took over the running of the group back in 2010 and it has grown very popular!
The group meets each Monday evening at Freemantle Community Centre where we share refreshments together before spending an hour working on drama, music and dance ready for our productions. The group stage two shows each year (Summer and Winter) and always attract a good audience along in support of their efforts. Past productions include ‘Swifter, Stronger, Higher’ (an Olympic play), Oscars Movie Night, Cinderella and A Christmas Carol.
The group is open to anyone aged over 18 and individuals are allowed to attend on their own (if appropriate) or with a support worker. For any more information and to book a place in the group please contact email@example.com or call 07737 287 152.
E-QUIP is also available to offer support to schools in the area of themed assemblies. We have experience of working in a number of schools in the city offering drama and music to help communicate your theme to children, particularly in Infant and Primary Schools.
If you would like to invite E-QUIP in to work in your school then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 07737 287 152
