E-QUIP sets out to use the performing arts to Creatively Communicate the Christian Faith and we are often working on a number of projects to achieve this goal. These are some of the ways that we seek to serve the Church and the City:
- We are involved in staging City wide events that promote the Christian faith
We work in bringing people together from churches across the City to stage large scale performance events that communicate and promote the Christian faith
- We can produce original scripts and songs to help communicate your message
We can provide a new script or song to be an unique part of your event
- We offer performances that can be part of an event/assembly/worship service
We offer original performances (short plays/skits/songs) that can form part of an event you are hosting that helps to communicate your message in a creative way
The Nativity took to the stage at Southampton Guildhall in December 2012 and was a fresh, original production that maintained the Christian message of the well loved nativity story but used music, song, dance and drama to give this age-old tale a modern retelling.
The script was written by Neil Maddock with music by Phil and Laura Le Cheminant. This brand new musical built on the success of the Southampton Passion – and represented another world premiere for our city! It received great feedback with many people commenting on the quality of the performances and the production and was seen by just under 2,500 people over the four shows.

The Southampton Passion
On Good Friday 2011 over 9,000 people filled the Guildhall Square in the centre of the city to witness this memorable event. The Passion began as a vision given to Neil back in 2008 and just under three years later after building an incredible team of people and an amazing cast the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was portrayed for all to see in the the centre of the city. There were five different stages, live video relay to two large screens, a procession through the middle of the crowd, a crew of nearly 200 and a cast of 70 and of course our amazing 100 strong choir! It was a gloriously sunny warm April evening and God's favour was evident as his messgae of forgiveness, new life and hope was boldly proclaimed. The production was a musical and featured brand new songs written by Nathan Hattersley and Neil Maddock and they filled the air as the truth of the gospel message was sung out. It was a truly memorable event in the city, the largest outdoor Christian event to have happened in the city and, to date the largest event to have taken place in the new cultural quarter of the city, Guildhall Square. A DVD of the event is available, as is a CD soundtrack of all the songs. If you would be interested in finding out more about this please contact us for more details.
Tom, Dick and Harry
Working in partnership with Steve Lee (Miracle Street) and New Life Church, Romsey we staged a brand new innovative production at the Plaza Theatre in Romsey in October 2011. The show ran for two nights and was a blend of character acting, illusions, video, music, song and a very clear gospel message. In essence it was a two man show with Neil and Steve carrying the performance between them but they were very abley backed up by a talented band of musicians from the New Life Church. The production focussed on the life of three historical figures and drew out a gospel message that was challenging and thought provoking whilst being humorous and entertaining. The show received very positive reviews and we are now pursuing other opportunities to take the production to other venues and work in partnership with churches to stage the event.
